SPELbioWebinar

About the Webinar

Kristy Pratsch, Business Development Manager (SPEL Stormwater), presents SPEL’s introduction to SPELBio, our High-Quality Bioretention Media. Bioretention media plays a key role in our urban landscape, through its incorporation in key assets such as catch basin structures, rain gardens, bioretention cells and prefabricated concrete stormwater assets. SPELBio media is a highly advanced stormwater filtration system. As water seeps into these areas, the result is slower water movement through drainage systems and waterways. Quality bioretention media meets the requirements of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and improves water quality outcomes and plant establishment. Downstream, it helps to mitigate flooding and control water flow rates.

Not all organic matter is created equal. Through the presentation, we will investigate the ways SPELBio goes beyond industry benchmarks, such as MRTS Form G Standards and FAWB guidelines. Our media is sourced from mature compost and graded to ensure the absence of deleterious materials – such as asbestos and harmful pathogens. SPELBio is suitable for sustainable application across a wide variety of developments and site requirements. Maintenance of these systems is vital, and we also look at the different services available to help support and sustain your bioretention systems – and to ensure your growth media is in top condition.
