exploring onsite stormwater detention course.jpg

Our latest webinar in partnership with Engineers Australia was presented on the 12th of December (2023), and examines On-site Stormwater Detention (OSD), which is an essential component of modern urban development for flood mitigation, future-proofing, and water quantity management.

Presented by Atlan Stormwater’s Kurt Jensen & Peter Hancock, this webinar explores stormwater detention infrastructure, stormwater harvesting and retention.

Modern detention systems are modular and scalable systems, that can be designed to meet a wide range of on-site footprint and configuration requirements – from condensed footprints to large volume detention.

The urban environment has large areas of impervious services. Stormwater detention assets help to retain infiltration capability and ensures that peak stormwater flows can be managed.

This webinar examines key case studies, designs and engineering for different approaches to detention infrastructure, and briefly touch on retention & stormwater harvesting. Design approaches include locally manufactured precast concrete solutions (AtlanVault and MegaVault) and HDPE arched chamber infrastructure (AtlanChamber). Maintenance criteria to ensure service life are also discussed.
